Obedience is more important in the eyes of God than all the sacrifices you can make to do His work. “Working for God” produces no miracles. Allowing God to work for you, can change water into wine! The fact is that obeying the instructions of His Spirit creates a favorable environment to transform something ordinary into something extraordinary.
Obedience even if the instructions seem counterintuitive.
God sometimes leads his servants on mysterious roads. But obedience to His instructions is effective to unlock blocked situations. The real miracle is when a Christian allows God to lead him to liberate his Power of love into the life of someone who is lost.
Have you already experienced what it means to love someone that our old nature could not love? That brings us back to this verse « Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. » (1 John 4.20)
I’m thinking of the testimonial Pierrot Fey gave in his book « Miracles au Pluriel » (Multiple Miracles). Since the time he converted to Christ in prison (1995) thanks to a Bible someone gave him, he has learned to walk by obedience to the instructions of the Holy Spirit.
A girl who should not have been there
He was the main speaker for an evangelistic meeting organized by the FGBMFI (Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International). The meeting was held in a chic hotel where business and upper-middle-class persons would feel at home. A lady wanted to come with her daughter who was a « punk ». The organizer asked Pierrot if he had any objection. « No, not at all » he replied. But he wondered why a girl like that would want to come.
It was 8 pm and what a spectacle. Her hair was cut Iroquois style, half was colored purple, and the other half was shaved. She had rings in her nose, her ears, on her lips, and even on her tongue! It was evident that she was drugged and had outrageous Gothic-style make-up.
“Obey Me” Obedience to the Spirit
After the meal, the meeting was about to start. The band started playing some hymns.
Suddenly the Holy Spirit talked to Pierrot Fey. « Go to the front of the room and start to dance ». But You know that dancing in front of everybody is not my thing. I’m more of a footballer. Not a dancer! But the Spirit insisted: « Go to the front and dance ! » He had no other choice than to take off his jacket and start dancing. He started to dance and sing the hymns. Fortunately, 3 other couples joined him!
« Now go and invite this punk to dance with you! Are you sure it’s you talking to me? Yes, it’s me. Invite the girl to dance with you.» There he was off with suit and tie to ask this young girl to grant him a dance. Unexpectedly, she got up and came up to the front. As soon as she started dancing that the Holy Spirit overwhelmed her, and she fell to the floor crying hot tears.
Born again of the dance floor
She was born again on the dance floor. The Lord can interrupt any “descent to hell” when His servant obeys. But obedience is a lifelong learning experience. The Servant of God needs to know that it is God that saves and can save the worst cases.
But the condition of God’s intervention is to agree with His strategy for each soul and to do our part. And what is that part? Believe that he has the power to do it.
28 Then they said to him, “What must we do to perform the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” (John 6. 28-29)
And also (verse 63): “63 It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.”

Dear Jesus, you said, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. ”We ask for this ability to see as You see. Amen
