About the Vision
This is about the website Bible Faith Made Practical.com with the tagline, “Where faith and practice meet together”. Our great desire is to strengthen the practical faith of Christians and soon-to-be Christians. There are many who believe what the preacher says and nod their heads.
But unless the Holy Spirit shows you how to practice your faith in a given situation, the content of the message is totally forgotten at 6 o’clock Sunday night. It just goes in one ear and goes out the other. The question we need to ask is: “What does this message mean for me and my situation”?
On this website, we are dedicated to showing the relationship between the Word we hear and the faith needed to obey. Applying our faith in our lives is the most practical thing we can do. And nothing better than our obedience to deepen the reality of the trust-relationship we have with Him.
Like the childhood Sunday school song went:
“I’ll say yes, Lord, Yes
To your will and to your way.
I’ll say Yes, Lord Yes,
I will trust you and obey.
When the Spirit says to me,
Let Jesus set you free;
I’ll say yes Lord Yes, Lord Yes!
We don’t want to be like the people of the end times who “have a form of godliness but deny its power”.
(2 Timothy 3.5) or perhaps even worse, “always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth” (vs 7).
He who is the Truth is Jesus. You can learn about him or get to know him in your difficulties and sufferings. This kind of knowledge is reserved for those who follow Him wherever He goes by obedience to His call.
Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. (John 7.17)
About Andre Amsing (bio)

Andre (now 69) was born in Holland (near The Hague) and when he was 2 (and his sister was 4 months) his parents emigrated to Ontario, Canada.
After high school, he wanted to travel around Canada and the United States with a 10-speed bicycle. But just as he quit his job and got ready, 6 feet of snow fell in his area on the 2nd of May 1972. His mother said, “You have the money. Go visit your family in Holland until it thaws out’”. Just to say how God can redirect a life using a snowstorm in the month of May!
He found himself working for an uncle in market gardening. And he also started growing in his relationship with God by working with Youth for Christ in their coffee bar evangelism (it was the hippie period).
Andre decided to stay in Holland and went to a nursing school to learn the profession. Every morning from 6-7 am, they held a prayer and Bible study group, and several of their colleagues came to the Lord. This was the beginning of his one-to-one personal evangelism experience.
Finding a dirty brochure on the floor
But in a weekend youth camp, he found a brochure lying on the ground about a Bible School in Wales where the main book that was studied was the Bible. And they also had a priority. Learning to know God and getting answers to prayer.
That is exactly what he was looking for. And he resigned from the nursing school to go to Wales. What he wanted to know is if God exists and if he really answers prayer. Some of the stories about different spiritual experiences are related on this blog.
During this time, he also got trained as a Bible Translator and literacy specialist with Wycliffe Bible translators (summer schools). He wanted to be involved in something to do with the Bible, since “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Matthew 24.35).
After getting his 2-year diploma in Theology and Ministry, he got married to Roselyne from France. They went on to study linguistics and anthropology at the University of Texas at Arlington.
To meet the non-Indo-European language requirement for the master’s degree program they went to Istanbul, Turkey for a year to learn Turkish. They also met John Stott and also David Van Halsema who was the Dean from the Reformed Bible College (now Kuyper College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They obtained a full-tuition scholarship which allowed them to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education.
Walking by faith in France
But the finances didn’t come in to support a career as Bible Translator, so Andre and his family decided to go and live in France and went into sales and different small business opportunities to support his growing family. France was a total-immersion language and cultural experience. Maybe not the career he expected but rich in encounters with people who needed the Lord. And he was able to make himself useful by:
- Preaching in local churches,
- Teaching personal evangelism
- coordinating a Billy Graham campaign in Northern France,
- follow-up Bible study groups
- partnership coordinator for an NGO
- but enough said…
About this project
He always had the vision to serve God as a layman rather than an official minister. It has been shown to be a better way to relate to people who live without God.
Now during retirement years, Andre is aware that he may have a lot to share for future generations. He also learned in these last 10 years everything that has to do with the internet and online marketing such as:
- Video creation
- Setting up websites
- Writing content
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Video ads
- Email follow up etc.
Today people go online (especially with the Covid) to find the information they want. So that is where Christian witnesses need to go to meet them. His first attempt in French was https://egliseenligne.com (church online). But he does need correctors to help and make sure the French is perfect (so it takes longer to create content).
Besides the articles, BFMP (Bible Faith made Practical) has a subscription service that provides regular messages from the Bible that should help anyone who is witnessing to people (but are perhaps weak in follow-up).
About improving follow-up
The Stand Up, Stand Out motivation series allows a new Christian to get a walkthrough of the Bible over a year or two. And they are also encouraged by the teaching that putting their faith into practice is the most useful thing they can do to deepen their spiritual life.
Each message is a 3-5 minute read with bible verses in the text. We show how well-known Bible characters put their faith into practice. You can start with downloading the free eBook about the true story of David and Goliath “My Presence is your Reward”.

That trust relationship pleases God immensely. We don’t go into too much detail at a time. But each message has enough “food for thought” to be used as a basis (if needed) for a
- Sermon
- Teaching a bible study
- Leading a prayer meeting
- Conducting a “new Christian” or “discipleship” program.
- Or just for one’s personal quiet time in the home or in the office.

About the Stand up Stand out Subscription

Subscribers will be getting a message in their inbox 3 times a week.
They can, of course, unsubscribe at any time.
- Each message will contain a link to a downloadable PDF of the message. Some people like making a scrap book or a printed file to be able to study them later. You can also print it out for your bible study or prayer group.
- You will also get a post card with the main thought to print out to put on your fridge or pin on your memo board. (If you want).
- We will be working on a video for each message and a podcast you can download on iTunes. Because there is a special blessing given to those who “read” and “hear” and put into practice.
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart (apply) what is written in it because the time is near. (Revelations 1.3)
